When I first moved in here it was pretty nice. It’s definitely no longer a nice place to live. The management is terrible. They don't care about complaints and don't do what they promise on the lease. The price is sky high, almost 700 a month. There is no security. Every once in a while you will see a token security officer. This year I've seen security about 4 or five times and I'm out a lot. Bikes are constantly stolen. Cars are broken into often. In one night 6 cars were broken into and of course with the wonderful security, nobody noticed anything. I had almost 1000 dollars worth of stuff stolen from my car. If I was a female I would be afraid to walk around the complex at night alone. The management boasts of steel security doors. The doors are crap. They have about 1/8 thick steel plates and are not actually strong. I found this out when I came back from winter break. Somebody was bold enough to try to pry my door open with a crow bar or something and now my entire door is bent. It’s so bad that the dead bolt mechanism is bent by about 15 degrees. Luckily, they didn't get in, but I'm sure they could have. I now feel so unsafe here, that I installed a 1/2 inch dead bolt inside on my door and have considered buying a handgun. On another issue, they claim that they shovel the walks for their modest 700 a month fee. When they do they mean a 12 inch wide path on some sidewalks. For two years I've had to shovel and de-ice my own sidewalk. I didn't think this was necessary until my friend fell on the ice and had to go to the hospital for head trauma. Now I take care of the sidewalk around my apartment to prevent that. If that isn't enough, management now has the lovely idea of walking in on your apartment at their leisure. It happened to both me and my neighbor. It used to be okay because they gave you notice, but I guess they enjoy surprising people. They ring the doorbell once, and come in to snoop around, to make sure you’re following the rules. They almost busted in on my neighbor when she was nude from the shower. So make sure you’re dressed and presentable when your doorbell rings because you might have an uninvited guest in the next 10 seconds. The best part is they don't say that they are from Ram's Village, so with the abundant crime I thought I was being robbed the last time it happened. Now to cover the parking issue. When I first moved here, the office checked permits so residents always had a place to park. When school is in session there is no longer parking. If you walk around the lot, most cars parked have no permit. After about 11pm most nights there is no parking, even the handicap spots are filled. Some mornings you get to wake up to a lovely double parked car right behind yours so that you cannot leave. The last time my parents came to visit me; they had to park partially on the sidewalk, and a landscaped lawn area. I also agree with the previous poster. If you happen to have a party or anything like that, somehow the mystical security officer and or cop immediately arrives to fine you. Funny how they are never around for anything else. If you insist on living here I would recommend parking across the street at University Village. You'd have to buy a permit off of somebody to do that, but the CSU PD patrols there a lot. If you care about your car or bike don't leave them outside. The crime is so bad somebody stole all of my neighbors potted plants from the 2nd story balcony. The actual apartment units are usually pretty nice, but vary from unit to unit. I have no complaints about the interior, it’s actually pretty nice. If you still decide you must live here, I recommend you go knock on anybody’s door here and ask their opinion. In conclusion, the only place that I can compare Ram's Village to would have to be Commerce City crime wise. I actually feel safer walking by myself in LoDo then I do around here. I think that the criminals are attracted to Ram's Village because many residents here are wealthy and have nice things and cars. My final point is that I would not recommend any woman to live here. I feel that anyone could easily be molested and raped here in full public without anyone even noticing. I hope that you take my advice, and move somewhere safer and not so pricey. Three years experience says a lot because most people don't live here for long and I'm moving out as soon as my lease is up.
