I will start with the things I liked about this complex. The location is great-close to CSU (I'm a student) as well as shopping centers and super markets. I really liked the staff. They were always very friendly. I actually never heard my neighbors the entire time I lived there and I'm sure they didn't here me because contrary to popular belief, not all college students party all the time every day. There are several things about this complex that made it not worth it to pay 860 bucks for a two bedroom apartment. First of all, the carpet NEVER looks clean, no matter how much you vacuum it. The pile is just not even remotely superior. While the floorplan of the Gunnison apartment is pretty well thought out, there are not walk in closets and the light during the day is faily poor. I hate having to turn lights on in the middle of the day. I lived with a computer science major. This is relevent because the included internet package was terrible. The internet didn't work most of the time and when it did, as my roomate informed me, it wasn't managed so it was a festering cesspool for viruses and computer hackers. We ended up getting service from Frii instead. The bathrooms are spacious, but as I noticed one day while laying in the tub, they are very pooly contructed. There was a gap between the tub lining and the upper-showering tile type stuff that wasn't water sealed and it just allowed mold to grow easily. So...hooray if you like mold. Also, the cabinets were terrible looking. They are not even remotely nice for paying 860 bucks per room...unless you're getting a three bedroom apartment and splitting it three ways. Even then, I'd reccomend checking out other complexes that charge the same rate for a better quality apartment. Even the Preserve at the Fort is much better quality. One more thing, the hot tub broke often and wasn't fixed for long periods of time. So, there you have it. Here's what I thought of this community, take it for what it's worth. It's yours.
