Good facility, but beware--fees are assessed randomly! ( over a year ago )

CCW is not a bad place. We had a 4-star experience until the day we received our deposit refund. This is an excellent place to live for the money--they have a great facility, attractive living spaces, a great fitness center, pool, hot tub, and timely maintenance response to issues.
HOWEVER, just count on losing $75.00 out of your deposit. This is the 4th apartment I've rented and I customarily clean my apartment immaculately--and naturally I receive my full deposit. CCW, however, operates with a entirely different standard.
The staff tells you that you can have CCW clean it for you for a $75.00 fee. Just go ahead and take it, because you won't see it anyway. We took the day off work and cleaned the place, because every little bit helps right now. When the deposit came back with the ENTIRE cleaning fee assessed I called the apartment manager and asked for clarification. She explained that we hadn't pulled the stove, refrigerator, and washer and dryer out from the wall and scrubbed underneath (among some other minor things like a cobweb in the ceiling corner and film in the bathtub). I told her I was surprised that they would dock us for minor issues like that, but agreeded that those were fair requirements. However, I asserted that we should be assessed the difference in the total cleaning fee versus what we had neglected. I told her it didn't seem fair to charge us for the entire $75.00 when we had performed at least 90% of the work.
Long story short: CCW uses cleaning contractors who charge CCW by the item OR by a flat rate of $75. Whichever is less, CCW will pass that charge onto you. However, the price for moving the stove and vacuuming under it is $10-20, likewise for the other appliances. Obviously, you will be paying them $75.
Whether this is a gimmick or not, I don't really care: I have no problem admitting that CCW was right in one fact--we didn't clean everything. But I don't expect to pay the full cleaning charge when I did 90% of the work, no matter HOW CCW is billed by their contractors--that's their own problem.
The manager even admitted that CCW didn't communicate their rather unusual billing procedures very well. But she still wouldn't give a even a small portion of our $75 back! She said she couldn't do it "on principle". Come on! Then she started lecturing me on how it was MY responsibility to figure out their billing procedures and that I was wrong for being dissatisfied, and that she wasn't going to compromise her standards. Bizarre... It was like arguing with Ayn Rand...
Apparently, I'm a bit late on learning an important real estate truth: landlords really don't depend on repeat business or word of mouth/reputation as much as other businesses and therefore have little incentive to keep you happy when you leave.

I like my 600 sq/ft appt! I have lived in greeley for 4 years. I have been in nicer townhomes in town but this aapt is great for the price. Its only $650 a month including pet rent! The staff is friendly and helpful. They have social functions that are fun. One time they got a free coffee bar for us... that was fun. I have a dog and ther are always other friendly dogs to play with in the large grass area outside. It is a nice place. i really recomed it. My onle complaint is there has been at least 4 car break-ins in the year i have been here. There is security that comes every couple hours but that did not help i guess. Greely in known for gangs. the cars that were broken-in to did not have alarms and only i-pods were taken. other that that i alway feel safe!! I take my dodg out at night and never worry...
