Being attentive and helpful is important to the Eli Whitney maintenance staff, who are always happy to lend a hand. Apartments are spacious and carpeted, and the building includes a built-in laundry facility. With a location near East Rock Park, The Eli Whitney museum, and countless restaurants and coffee and sandwich shops, there is no lack of things to do. Yale University and Quinnipiac College are nearby. Snow can be a problem with the outdoor parking lot in New England winters, but management plows regularly. Secure building access keeps residents feeling safe. In such a bustling city, it is difficult to find an abode with a yard, but here residents can enjoy a lush back yard and porch. Walk-in closets and extra storage space are also commodities in city life, and are offered here. Parking is assigned, so searching for a parking spot after a long day is no issue. The Fairways is newly remodeled with hardwood floors and redesigned bathrooms, and include a fully equipped kitchen, with oak cabinets and plenty of counter-space. Heat and hot-water are included. Although located near several playgrounds, and, conveniently, public transportation, these townhomes are not particularly central. However, this placement makes for a quiet neighborhood. The Fairways is minutes from 1-91 and 1-95, as well as downtown New Haven. Residents can enjoy the nearby golf course, shoreline and great shopping centers. The units offer internet and are cable-ready, and walk-in closets allow for plenty of storage and room for clothes. A yard and patio in back are great for stretching out and breathing some fresh air. Brook Hollow is only a few minutes by car outside of downtown New Haven, and a short walk from public transportation. All units have been remodeled and feature wall to wall carpeting, spacious floor plans for a reasonable price, and fully applianced kitchens. Residents are happy about the quality of their apartments, but have complained about noise levels inside and out, faulty fire alarms going off when no fire is present, and paying an extra fee to have an air conditioner. 360 State Street, located a comfortable walk away from the New Haven Green, as well as the historic Wooster Square, offers an expansive view over the Long Island Sound. Restaurants and coffee shops abound in this area.There is a market on the 1st floor, making picking up dinner an easy stop on the way home. A daily exercise regimen is easy to maintain with the extensive built in fitness center. The rooftop garden, open and grassy with lawn chairs and a pool, is a wonderful spot to relax and get some fresh air. Parking is not included, but residents find once they become familiar with the area this is no issue. Residence Court is located in lively downtown New Haven, surrounded by numerous restaurants and opportunities for exciting night life, and directly adjacent to the City Green. Residents need not leave the building for laundry or exercise, and there is covered parking, which is immensely useful in the winter. Residents find the units themselves quite comfortable, and the new management team a welcome improvement, but have expressed dissatisfaction with the cost of heating and cooling in the apartments, the drafty windows, and the noise level in the area.
