They are a disgrace & provide no real privacy. They are
not built for a family but, are advertised as such. The
government built them for the returning service men in
1950 and they were cheaply built. One plank of wood for
a floor and no sound proofing layer undeer it between it
and you can hear right through the floor.
A great number of the units are Cooperatives but, at some
point to keep the place going and the coop fees low for
the coopers they began renting them to Welfare and Section
8 residents. Feeding off of the government for these the
subsidy funds. That's when the place went to the dogs as
the place is not built for families such as they advertise.
A small kitchenette and small dining room is not enough
room for a family of 5. I am one person in a 2 bedroom unit
and there is just enough room for me.
The area is crime ridden and I regret moving here and will
be leaving as soon as my lease is up.
People that live on the system should not be mixed with the
working class people and seniors because they have lived off
of us all their no working lives.
We need our space away from them and paying for them to have
is more than enough. And I'm talking about the ones who take
the money and drink it up, chain smoke, and other waste need
to be with each other in apartments and houses specially
built for them.
