Our Review for Belvedere

Belvedere Apartments rests in the heart of DC on Massachusetts Avenue. History lovers can visit the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial only 2 miles away. Getting around the city is a cinch with bus and metro stops in the vicinity. Reviewers complained about street noise, limited grocery store options, and no parking at the building. Otherwise, tenants love the management, the location, and proximity to all the city's famous landmarks.

I've been at The Belvedere for 3.5 years and I don't plan to move out until I leave D.C. What a gem of a building. Amazing manager, prompt and friendly maintenance, reasonable rental rates. LOVE IT!!

The staff in this apt. are so nice and frendly.Donna (Manager) and Joe are (Maintenance) super at ensuring you feel comfortable and cared for and Thuy does a great job of clean the apt. The room are nice but dont except to live in a fancy place becuase it more urban.

The building management is the BEST! These are comfortable, clean apartments in a great location. While the appliances are new and simple, most of the little fixtures are original to the building (think: kitchen hutch, bathtub, crown molding, wood floors). Don't expect luxury living here: there is no granite countertops, no swimming pool, and no valet parking. Just good, clean urban living with top-notch front-office management!

If you live on the Massachusetts avenue side, expect a good bit of traffic noise, particularly firetrucks speeding down at 2am. You get used to it after awhile.

We haved lived at the Belvedere for two years. I really like it! Parking is not an issue if you don't have a car. We don't have a car, don't need a car, and are able to walk everywhere from this location. It is an older building. Older fixtures. Heavy paint. However, the tenants are quiet. There is a fire station a block away, but you get used to the sirens. The management is fantastic and so is the maintenance. The building is always clean and they are quick to fix any problems. I would absolutely rent here again.

After 9 long years I am leaving the Belvedere to buy a home. I have enjoyed living in the apartment and it's proximity to many attractions. Walking distance to local watering holes, shops, and the all of them museums is brilliant. Not to mention a short walk to the office. I highly recommend the Belvedre to all would-be tenants. Donna (Manager) and Joe are (Maintenance) super at ensuring you feel comfortable and cared for. Noise can be an issue on the Massachusetts Avenue and 13th Street sides if you are close to street level. The two bedroom is cool but I think the 1 bedroom is best value.

I've lived here for a little over 2 years and it's the best move I've made in a lomg time. Rent is stedily increasing but where is it not? The building is charming and old world. The hardwood floors are amazing and my unit had new appliances when I moved in. GREAT PLACE TO LIVE

I lived in the Belvedere 2 years and was pretty happy with it. The main issue I had was the noise .... not from within the building or the tenants but with the street traffic and fire station nearby. If I were to do it all over again I would not have a unit facing Massachusetts Ave. The side facing M Street would probably be best... and the side facing 13th second best. Its too bad about the noise because the side facing Mass Ave is the sunniest!

Have to leave and will miss the place. Built in the 1930s and originally a gentlemans' hotel. Wiring could be better (microwave makes lights dim) but management and maintenance are responsive and friendly. Also, great prices for downtown DC, nice neighborhood.
