I just moved into my apartment at the beginning of February. So far so good. I have a one bedroom, renovated apartment.

- Security: I have no had any issues. There is a call box for the building that requires you have a badge to enter or to call an apartment and be buzzed in. That is comforting. There was an evening when the call box wasn't working - with a badge or not. They fixed that. Now there is a rear entrance on the bottom floor that locks. I noticed the door no longer latches and that does cause some concern. One resident that was recently moving out did mention his truck had been broken into 2-3 times. But thus far, I've had no problems.

- Parking: The parking for my building is TERRIBLE. I think it's just my building though - all the others have decent parking, but it could be worse. There isn't true overflow parking, but there are some businesses across the way where we park if there are no spaces left. And there is a truck parked in one of our spaces that hasn't moved in weeks. I reported this to the complex just today - I will follow up on their response.

- Appearance/Upkeep: Really not that bad. We have a shared entrance and it has been kept very clean. On the downside, the complex does not do much about ice/snow. They didn't shovel the sidewalks and although they put salt down, the steps seem like they are constantly slippery.

- Management: Thus far I haven't had much contact with them. They did allow me to change the locks on my apartment and add a new deadbolt, so I did appreciate that (although I think I should be entitled to that as long as I supply them with a copy of the key).

- Maintenance: Pretty good. I had an issue with my heat not working when I moved in. They came out and fixed it within an hour. They also changed the locks for me. Last night I had no hot water. I noticed it early in the evening and they had maintenance out within 30 minutes and the problem was fixed - cannot complain about that.

- Condition of Unit: The unit isn't bad. They have some really strange places for cable and electrical outlets. The one wall is something running along the bottom of it, so nothing sits flat on the wall. My desk and shelf leaned terribly because of the incline. Otherwise, the appliance have been fine. The washer/dryer are small, but work.

- Noise Level: Biggest downfall. The walls are PAPER thin and you hear just about everything. I usually put my tv on sleep timer and listen to it before going to bed, but I no longer have to do that because I can hear my neighbors just fine. guess it saves on electricity, but still sucks to hear EVERYTHING. Hopefully I don't get some 400 lb. man moving in above me :)

- Overall: Like I said, so far so good. I plan to write again if anyone would like to read the updates before moving in. Could be worse, could be better. I don't regret it yet, and hopefully I won't regret it. We will see...

And the dates aren't working on here - I moved in Feb 2007.
