Review for Montego Bay Apartments

I lived at Montego Bay in June of 2007-April 2008. The apartment was filled with mold and was dirty and discuting. I had a flood in the apartment and mold coming out of my air conditioner vents, putting black across my ceiling. I moved out and they tried to illegally charge me for cleaning my apartment when the manager christine admitted that they never entered my apartment after I left so they do not know weather or not it had been cleaned. She then proceded to not send me a final bill for 2 months, I went in with my mother 3 times to get the bill, every time she told me she had to send it certified mail and 3 times I gave her my address. The fourth time she sat with me and went over the bill with the illegal fee's for lease termination, she was told by another apartment complex that it was not in her lease and at the time it was illegal to charge a termination fee. She had to then forfit my deposit back to me because she never sent me a bill and legally had 30 days from the time of my termination. She proceded to tell me that she would rewrite the bill for 285 dollars and send it to me. I agreed that it was a fair amount. I then recieved nothing and she proceeded to not take my phone calls. I recieved a collection notice in November of 2008 almost a year after I moved out in the amount of 424 dollars. I tried to dispute with the collection company (southern management group) and they proceeded to not take my phone calls. I finally reached someone last month (jun 2009) and they screamed that I owed 424 and there was nothing I could do. I called Christine Today (july 2009) and she proceeded to tell me that they would settle for half which was close to the origional agreed upon amount. I called the collection company as she requested to offer to settle immediatly and they called her. Apparently she refuses to except anything less than 400 dollars. I then proceeded to call her back, she is now again not answering my calls. Over a year from the time that I moved out, I am now filing a claim with small claims for the fact that I never recieved a bill and was never aloud to dispute the collections based on the fact that I did not know the amount. So all in all while I lived there I had a flood in my apartment, got left without water for almost a week, and had 3 hospital visits for severe broncitis because of the mold coming from my air conditioner. Now I can't rent because the manager is a liar and a theif.
