I moved to Mill Run for two reasons: proximity to UF and affordable rent. The apartments are nothing fancy, but you can get a lot of space for not a lot of money. You do lose some perks in that low cost--there's no property management on site, no gym, etc.
Although I never "loved" the apartment, I stayed here for several years because of the price and convenient location. Unfortunately, management has become frankly unprofessional, and it's unbearable to deal with them. For example, we recently received conflicting correspondence from the office regarding making notice about renewing the lease. When attempting to clarify this error (on their part), the management was rude and uncooperative. Although they aknowledged that the confusion was due to mistakes made by their office, they were unwilling to work out a compromise and simply became snippy on the phone. They also make huge increases in rent each year ($40/year the past two years!). Despite the fact that several units at Mill Run have been vacant for months, management doesn't seem invested in keeping their current tenants happy. Needless to say, I won't be renewing the lease.
