Review Title:   Like Cookies?

The free cookies are awesome, but do not make up for the fact that your walls are super thin allowing you to hear your neighbors and roommates at inappropriate times of the night. Additionally, there is not much scenery, and the rooms and windows are small, making you feel like a trapped animal. Speaking of animals, the management is uncooperative when dealing with major issues. Previously, Sterling did not allow dogs in the apts. The tenants before us did have a dog, confirmed by management, which must have marked it's territory everywhere on the carpet. We had to constantly harp on Laura, the property manager, to even get her to visit our apt and confirm that we did have a problem. We only got a steam clean two weeks after we complained, which ultimately did not help the stench that permeated throughout my home. We should not have had this issue in the first place seeing as how dogs and other animals were not even supposed to be in the apts in the first place. It was nice being able to write one check per month and not having to deal with utilities, but after seeing our utility bill and realizing how much money I would have saved if I had lived in a different apt and used Gainesville Regional Utilities, I would have been a lot happier. Lastly, they did not notify the residents when they knew cars in the parking lot where being broken into. I only knew about this bc the police fliered the apts a few days later. I will say that I was originally attracted to Sterling because of the open parking and the large pool area, which they now close at 11pm after people trashed the pool area, but I would not live there again based on these trivial amenities.
