Review Title:   Management Tricks

They didn't fix ANY of the problems listed during the inspection, including a bathtub fixture that leaked over a gallon every hour. Maintenance did replace an air handler when it started to leak, only to find out that it worked fine and the drain pipe was just clogged. It took five minutes to fix it after two weeks without A/C. Of course they never repaired the water damage to the carpet or walls. Worse, they bumped up the rent and said that we had to pay for water and sewage(even with the leaking tub), making it over a ten percent increase. The management also pocketed over 350 dollars in non-refundable "deposits" This seems to be the way corporate-owned apartments can offer cheaper rates - non-refundable fees that can add up to 30 dollars or more over the term of the lease. Then they increase the costs to you after the first year by making you pay for things that were included before. The problem is that MOST of the managers in this town operate this way(the company that bought this complex is called CALEX-beware). If you think that a better option is to buy a house, recent reports say that JAX houses are inflated at 25% or more over value. No wonder that this city has such a high rate of domestic violence, can't fill their football stadium, and wastes so much money on construction companies. They're spending all of their money on the high cost of housing. Jacksonville locals are honest and friendly, which makes it all the more shameful for these landowners. Unless you can buy your own land, which is plentiful here, and build your own house, expect to get ripped off.
