We moved in to Victoria Park in Nov of '05. We had just gotten engaged and tired of living at home, the only reason for jumping in to an apt so quickly was to get out of his mom's house; she was driving me nuts. Anywho, when we got to the apartment, and they did the walk through where you write down what was wrong with it before... well there was a stain on the carpet when you first walk through the door, the sliding glass door was jammed, the dishwasher wasn't bolted in to the counter, so everytime you opened it, everything came sliding out and all over the floor.
Our building was full of hoodlums... I swear to god. At all hours of the night their music was blasting, and thumping in their apartment or their cars... it was downright horrible.
We put a work order in for this stuff in Nov of '05... they NEVER came and fixed any of it the 10 months we were there!
They've been through THREE different managements in the last 10 months...
Well we just bought a house Sept of 06, so we put in our 30-day notice for leaving Oct 12, paid the pro-rate utnil Oct 12, so technically we have until Oct 12 to move out of there, and get all of our things.
They just went under new management last week, and they put our apartment on the vacant list, and TRASHED ALL OF OUR BELONGINGS THAT WE HAD LEFT IN THE APARTMENT!
ALL of my clothes, shoes and some of my husbands clothes, irreplaceable items like his old Navy pictures, things from our wedding in August, things from my parents wedding 21 years ago... things that we'll never get back.
This all happened yesterday, 10-10-06 with TWO days left until we were supposed to be out of the apartemnt. We were lucky that my husband took the day off to get the carpet cleaned or we would have never noticed.
I'm irrate at this point, becuase A. I have no clothes or shoes for work and B. there were things that just could not be replaced at all in that apartment.
Right now we're trying to remember everything that was in the apartment still, filing a police report, and hopefully getting what we deserve out of all this mess.
DO NOT.... DO NOT RENT HERE!!
