Beautiful and spacious! Great office staff! ( over a year ago )

After looking at many apartments in the area, I stumbled onto Barrington. At first, from the exterior, I didn't expect it to be anymore different than the 5 other communities I had been to that day. But after seeing their 2 Bed x 2 Bath model, I fell in love. Of course I was skeptical seeing as how models normally look a trillion times better than the actual apartments, but after I walked through my new apartment 2 weeks later, I knew that I had made a great decision. I love my apartment! So spacious and modern, not to mention my electric bill is the lowest it's ever been! The floorplans are great for the price, and the custom floors, fans and lighting make it cozy like a home instead of an apartment. And the girls in the office are the sweetest ever! They make sure I'm taken care of.

I was lied to by the employees of The Barrington at Deerwood in Jacksonville, FL, which resulted in my forfeiture of $45.
When I started apartment hunting, I looked at The Barrington first because I have friends that already live there. I went into the office and asked for a one bedroom on a top floor. They told me one was available on March 10th, 2004. I filled out an application and wrote a $250 deposit check. Several days later, a Barrington employee called to tell me that hard wood floors would be installed in this second floor apartment.
The apartment that they had sold to me was a first floor apartment only three doors down from the trash center. I discovered this over a week after my first visit to the front office. When I requested the return of the check, the associates in the office asked me for a $45 application fee. I would not have filled out an application if the leasing officer had told me the correct location of the apartment on the ground floor. I do not think I should have paid for this mistake.
