Apartment Reviews for Hampton Greens
Hampton Greens changed their name to Beachway LInks

The Pro's first: Next to Wickham Park, very clean, nice floor layout, nice staff, very nice neighbors, plenty of parking, and gas appliances (I forgot how much I loved to cook on a gas stove. Rent can also be paid online or auto withdrawn.
The Con's: Think about your lifestyle long and hard before moving in!
1. Cable - They have a contract with Brighthouse. Its 75$ a month for cable + dvr. This does NOT include HD dvr box. You can get ANY package deal through brighthouse or through the apartment complex and you can not use any other type of provider including satellite. Let me break this down for you:
Normal bundle through brighthouse: internet + cable + hd dvrbox + phone = $110 month
Thru Beachway Links = $75 cable + internet + HD dvr box = $150 (no phone)
So maybe you dont have an HD TV and dont need a home telephone, then you shouldn't have an issue paying a few dollars more than what it would cost if you just simply went through brighthouse. For those who have HD TV and need internet access for your computer/cellphone/xbox/ps3/wii, paying nearly $50 more a month is simply ridiculous. Actually it's a rip-off.
2. Maintenance - Not too many people want to buy gas appliances for a rental. Due to this, Beachway rents out washer/dryer bundles for $45 a month. BEWARE! I was assured that the washer/dryer set would be installed before I moved in. Wrong, it took them a week to install.
Last week, my washer broke. I went to the office and told them. I was told that it was probably off balance but they would put in a maintenance request for me. Noticing that it wasnt put in, I put in a maintenance request online. Once again, a week later, my washer is still broken! No, its not off balance...the timer is broken. I am renting this washer from them, it should be priority to repair or replace it. They seem to care less that I need to do laundry and are in no hurry to repair it. I also have not been offered a pro-rated refund for the time without a washer/dryer.
Be prepared to pay top dollar to rent appliances that they will not install or repair in a timely manner. If you dont want to hassle with having to deal with the maintenance here, then purchase your own gas appliances =)
3. Pests- After dealing with hundreds of ants that appeared in my bathroom on a Thursday morning, I was lucky enough that pest control happened to be there that day. They treated my house but then I noticed even more ants that evening. They were coming through cracked caulk at the bottom of the bathtub. My solution, superglue! It stopped the ants from coming through the bathroom but then they swarmed my closet. After dealing with ants in all in my clothes, floor, and master bedroom... I called to have it sprayed again. Im sure you already guessed, it can only be sprayed on thursdays. Seriously, this is crazy (and my washer is broken)Dirty clothes and ants are not a good combination.
The bottom line - I have only been here 2 months but so unhappy that at this point, there is no way that I will be renewing my lease. As far as the Pro's list, those are expected at any apartment complex. It is also expected to have maintenance that is timely. It's sad, because the location is great and so is the layout. The management needs to get their act together!
