Review for Tradewinds Apartments

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008


This property looks pretty good in the pictures. Once you move here you will find that the apartments do not look like the what you see on the internet. The new wood floors are ragged, stained carpet. But much more important than that is the crime in the area. The staff told me I had no worries that security covered the grounds. I think they only cover the area around the pool. Well, I just bought a new Sony 50" HD television set that lasted all of 2 weeks before someone kicked by sliding glass door in and stole it along with other items. Drugs and drug dealers are all around. They claim to run background checks to keep felons out but I have did some research myself trying to find out what kind of people live here (to track my TV) and believe me this place is crawling with scum. The more felons in and out of this place than the county jail. Please do not make the same mistake I did. I have given my notice and I am out of here.

One more thing, If you are planning on moving to Orlando and do not have a job. Unless you want ot work for 7 dollars at disney there are no decent jobs here, Just a heads up.

Parking - Everyone is moving out so plenty of space...5 star

Noise - Anything that goes on you can hear it. And do not live downstairs. 1 Star

Grounds - looks OK. 3 star

Safety - High crime area and especially do not take an apartment backing the lake.View is nice but theives love this area and the security guy is napping by the pool. 1 Star

Construction - Thin walls , cheap fixtures. What can I say. Very substandard. 2 Star


Maintenance - Usually fixed correctly but my refridge is about to catch fire and they still havent came back to check it. Guess I will call again today. 3 Star

Staff - Nothing Special. Some seem like nice people and others are mad at the world for some reason. Showed no concern at all over my apartment being burlarized. Always say it says this or it says that in my lease, of which I never received a copy. Claim they left it on my door. Asked numerous times for copy but never have it.

Overall - Not the best or the worst place i have ever lived but by far the most dangerous. Other than the burglaries that are a regular thing around here.Rapes and murders happen more than you would believe within a 10 mile radius. Check the crime statistics yourself for this area. My co-workers always said that the Metrowest area was dangerous but I thought it must be another part of the area. But after living in Orlando for almost a year , you should know. Looks are deceiving. This place is a very , very dangerous place. Move here at your own risk.

I have lived in Tradewinds At Metrowest for 10 years and I love it! There's crime everywhere in Orlando. Not just in Metrowest. The grounds are very well maintained and the staff is awesome. They make you get renters insurance like alot of companies so that would have covered the theft of your tv. Don't give a really nice place a bad name!
