When you visit the leasing office, they're great! They'll answer any questions you have, show you anything you'd like, and even exclude you from several fees if you sign the lease! But one fee you pay is for covering move in costs - such as deep cleaning the carpet and having the apartment dazzling for when you unpack! When I moved in, there was dust everywhere, dirt piles in the corners, pubic hairs smothering the walls of my shower, moldy ceilings, gnats swarming out of our sink, roaches playing in the kitchen, drawers and shelves were broken, our couch had stains, and our air conditioning fluctuates like a mofo. We put in multiple complaints and maintenance requests to the office and they have yet to come to our apartment. Oh, and our alarm system is broken and beeps incessantly for days at a time and the office doesnt feel that our ALARM SYSTEM is important! Because of the condition of the apartment when we moved in, my and one of my roommates got strep throat and shelled out hundreds of dollars on doctors appointments, prescriptions, otc medication, gallons of fabreeze, and an air purifier. So when someone breaks into our faultily secured apartment, I'll send them the bill for that too. Maintenance is worthless and rude. Campus Lodge sucks. You can do better.
