Review Title:   Management Is Awful Don't Live Here!!!
Reviewer:   Anonymous
Review Date:   6/27/2006

These apts suck!! The office staff was often snotty and un helpful, ESPECIALLY the district manager. At the time of move in all the tile floors were badly stained, and most of the cabinet doors were crooked. Our apt. flooded twice in the two years we lived there and we paid to run the fans and dehumidifier. No attempt was made to clean the walls or ceiling (or anything for that matter) after the flooding. When we moved out our A/C had been broken for two months (it sounded like a jackhammer and was located right next to the bedroom),despite 3 maintenance requests. Our microwave door handle was broken at move in and we were told that we could either keep the microwave broken or that the management would just remove it and put in a stove hood. When we renewed our lease we were told (in writing) that we would get a ceiling fan in the livingroom, but the management decided it wasn't going to do that AFTER we signed the lease. The office lost our rent check one month and we got an eviction notice. My wife had to do a stop payment on the check and the office computer "system" kept reporting that we owed a $50.00 late fee...because THEY lost the check. We are currently trying to recover our security deposit...the office tried to tell us that we weren't due a refund because THEY had incorrectly listed us as moving out on May 1st, rather than on April 30, which is when we left. On the day we moved out the "district manager" and I almost got into an argument when she told me that, in addition to the extra month's rent we were paying for moving out early, we also owed a "termination fee". The fee is only owed if a notice of less than 60 days is given. We gave two notices, both 120 days before our move out date. Luckily my wife keeps very good records and we still have our copy of the contract and move out notices. We have now been out of the apartment for 2 months and when my wife called the office to inquire about the security deposit refund she was told that we weren't owed a refund because we owed the termination fee. When informed of this fact, the person in the office told my wife that she was going to send an e- mail to "corporate" to have our refund sent to us, but she couldn't forward a copy of the e-mail because she "couldn't give out their e-mail address". The management of Cypress Pointe has no intention of honoring ANY contracts with their residents, they demonstrated that time and again. We were expected to uphold our end of the agreement, and we did, but the management never had any intent to uphold their end of any CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENTS that they made.
