Moved into this complex last year without doing a lot of research. It is located in a very nice part of Tallahassee, not near the Florida State campus. It honestly seemed appealing. At first glance the apartment was very nice, warm, semi-modern, until I started noticing all the half-assed maintenance problems. Bleach spots/stains on carpets, crooked cabinets, outdated kitchen appliances, missing light fixtures, dirty bathroom, broken light bulbs, clogged air/heat/exhaust fan filters, etc, etc. The outside of the complex was nice with the pond, tennis/basketball court, landscaping. There were always piles of branches/trees/leaves around every corner which got to be an eye sore and not to mention a driving hazard where only one vehicle could pass at a given time, plus it took up parking spots. The dumpster is all the way at the front of the complex and 9 out of 10 times it was over flowing with everything but cleanliness. So make sure you have trunk space in your car so you can take care of your trash. The office has certain hours posted for a reason... When i moved out, i waited around for two hours (during their "business hours") to make sure I handed my keys to somebody of importance, and when somebody (the manager aka Satan) did finally stumble into the office where i was patiently waiting she blatently assumed and snapped at me that i owed her back rent. A. she never met me B. She didn't know my name C. she didn't know what apartment i was in. How is that possible? After I gave my keys, I asked when i would receive my security deposit. she replied 12 days. i was fine with that. i know they need to check out the apartment plus mailing time. 12 days later-no check, 1 month later-no check. i called they told me bullshit lies about broken blinds, carpet stains, and a dirty toilet. All complete lies. they took $75 for things that are untrue, and things that are something i couldn't fight against since it was their word against mine. 2 months later- no check, 3 months later-they said they mailed it out a month ago. complete lie. Still to this day i haven't gotten a deposit back. Going to take them to court.
Conclusion: An 'OK' place if money is no object to you and you like to live under a slum lord, horrible Horrible HORRIBLE middle/upper management, outdated everything, maintenance crews are shady as hell.
A BAD PLACE TO LIVE! I regret giving over $600 a month to them
