I agree with the first reviewer. Simply put: this is a nice apartment complex, but not worth the price. The location is nice (although these Southwood people are a little strange and cultish--Pleasantville much?). Also, the pool area is nice. The maintenance staff responds to work orders quickly, which is good because there are alot of them. You can tell the apartments were thrown together really quickly. I have watched my apartment deteriorate in front of my eyes since moving in...i.e., nails popping out, dips in floor becoming apparent. Also, ANTS were TERRIBLE when I first moved in. I had to spray profusely; they got in my clothes, towels, etc. etc., and I am not a messy person. They were coming in through my walk in closet, living room, and bedroom walls.
Also, lots of people here have dogs and let them poop all over, never cleaning up. This is really gross, since it's a pretty property. The staff really needs to address that issue. On a final note, I'm a graduate student, and thought this complex would be quiet, due to the very high prices. This is not the case. My nieghbors seem to have about 10 people over for an MTV dance party every night. Weekends are ok, but Monday, c'mon now. Finally, the gym looks pretty...but the equipment is broken ALOT. I've had to put a work order in for the elliptical machine twice already.
