These apartments are really not that bad. Sure, they are a little on the small side, but they are perfect for someone just out of high school or even a transfer student on a budget. I lived in Building 17 for two years and have never had a problem with the apartment, the staff, or maintenance. My only issue was a new roomie who insisted on smoking weed in the house and never chipped in on the house cleaning. The kitchen is spacy and the rooms are comfortable. You can't expect any college apartment to be "perfect", even if it is brand new! Everyone in this building is friendly, it's very quiet back here, and I would definitely recommend this apartment to someone going through a transition phase.
