Overall, the apartments are not bad...at least with my experience. They were clean and once you add some decoration, slip covers, etc. they are actually pretty quaint. There are a few problems that offset the cheap rent. 1. Paper thin walls. I am on the third floor of the building and can hear every footstep, laugh, joke, converstaion, car door, etc. on the ground level. I can hear every breath my roommates take in the living room. Basically, you better not be a light sleeper. And I live in the back of the complex where the least of the action is. 2. Internet. They claim to have high speed internet, it barely passes dial-up standards, if that, and is unrealiable. If it rains, the Internet is down. If the wind blows, the Internet is down. Don't count on it for anything. I have heard rumors the Internet is much faster in the front of the complex, like buildings 1,2,3,4 but who knows. 3. Staff. I have never in my life dealt with such incompetent, mentally challenged, defensive people in my life. They are the most unhelpful staff ever. The "Resident Services Manager", Meredith Butler, is the most annoying, sensitive, piece of work I have ever met. I have had numerous problems with rent (I submit it on time, lo and behold it has magically never been paid and hence I am charged $30 here and $5 there). When speaking, albeit annoyed, civily to Meredith about these problems and expressing the pure idiocy of the situation, she asks me to stop "yelling" at her and she doesn't know what she can do to help me. HELLO!?!?! Are you a complete and utter cretin!?!?!? Is this not your JOB to reassure me and tell me I am right and that this won't happen again? Is it not your JOB to be polite, professional, and courteous? This woman is an idiot. I plan on making several complaints to the coperate offices. Basically, this place is like living in a concentration camp. "NO TRASH OUTSIDE! NO GRILLS! PAY BY JANUARY 1ST AT 5PM OR WE WILL TRY TO EVICT YOU!!!!!" Seriously, when they started sending letters out to renew the lease, I almost had a seizure. Although rent is cheap, I would happily pay hundreds of more dollars a month to get away from the GED and community college graduating management. Keep looking!!!
