I had to move out of my previous apartment because I got a cat and they did not allow pets. Londontown is owned by the same company as my previous apartment complex, so they were able to just transfer my deposit and application, etc, so I didn't have to pay anything other than the pet fee. I had been unable to "shop around" because I had to move out so quickly, but I truly feel I was lucky to move into Londontown.
The apartments are a bit older, but I have never had any problems whatsoever with things breaking. There was a time when the bathroom drains were clogging, but then it got resolved on its own (I'm assuming they did something to fix it. I didn't have the time to ask them to fix it for me). The carpet had just been cleaned when I moved in, and the entire place was very nice. It is also very spacious for the price! The bedroom closet is big enough to fit all sorts of spare things, plus all of my clothes. And there's another closet in the living room which was just as big as the bedroom closet. I was able to fit all my cleaning supplies, etc. in that closet.
Both the bedroom and living room have ceiling fans, which I find very helpful. The only two problems I had with the apartment are 1. the bathroom did not have any electric plugs (I asked them if any could be installed and they said unfortunately it was not possible. I had to charge my toothbrush, and electric razors in my bedroom) and 2. my bedroom window did not have a screen, so I was not able to open it (I didn't find out about this until very recently, so I wasn't able to ask them to place one for me. I'm very certain they would have installed one if I had asked).
Parking is great, and there is always a space for me to park right in front of my door! They never tow, so you can have guests park overnight for a night or two with no problems (and they will tell you this too).
They do maintenaince very frequently. They change the AC air filters and check smoke detector batteries monthly. They cut the bushes monthly as well. They just recently completely redid both of the tennis courts, and they also painted all of the woodwork in all of the patios.
The laundry center was a bit small, but every time I needed to use it it was available. The staff is always very friendly, and will help you clarify any questions you might have.
The only reason I am moving out is because I'm moving out of state, otherwise I would stay here. I don't know if I will have any problems with my deposit fee, but the staff told me they will only take any money out of the deposit if there is any damage (the carpet cleaning will be taken care of with my pet fee), and they will then send me a check to my new address.
The location is also very good. It is only about 2 miles from the FSU campus (it was always a 10-15 minute drive for me), and about 3 minutes from Tallahassee Mall. Also a 10-15 minute drive to Governor's Square.
I live an entire year here and I would recommend everyone to live at Londontown- it is a great place!
