Dismal Management: It costs 10 times as much to actually find a new resident/customer than it does to keep one. The quickest way to lose money is to take your residents/customers for granted. The surest way to make money is to treat your residents/customers as you'd like to be treated. That's not rocket science. You just have to choose to do the right thing: create & foster good, honest relationships & meet people's needs.
My wife & I agreed to move here 900 miles, conditioned upon Management's meeting specific promises they had made before arrival in early Aug: new carpeting, new paint, new countertops, & repair of the air conditioning. None of the promised preparations/repairs were completed when we arrived. Only the air conditioning repair was completed, but that was 4 hurricanes later, in late Dec. Although we've continued to ask, none of the other promises were kept.
Greed: In a DECLINING real estate market, management has chosen to INCREASE rates for the 3rd year in a row. upon renewal for a 4th year after 36 on-time payments of rent. Rather than offer a renewal at the current rate, management chose, in effect, to "evict" my wife & me. "Got Ya" mentality reigns supreme.
Security: For more than 3 years, my wife & I have asked for parking lot lighting of our area. My wife comes home in the dark & can't see the car's keyhole. The car has been "keyed" (scraped by key) twice.
