This apartment complex is located off of Apalachee Parkway, right across from Wal-mart, on Idlewild Drive, the road between the Waffle House and Discount Auto Parts. These are older apartments, but nice for their age. There are 8 one-bedroom units and 64 two-bedroom (bedrooms are upstairs) units total.
The USDA provides project-based Rental Assistance for this complex. Tenants receiving Rental Assistance pay no more than 30% of their adjusted income for rent. Eligibility is determined by income standards set at the state and county level. Rent for a two-bedroom unit ranges from $447 to $550 per month. I make $30,000 annually and my rent is only $487, so almost all of the residents will pay only $447 per month.
If you are seriously looking for an affordable apartment in a convenient location, I suggest you call (850) 878-4226. It is probably an extra 10 minute drive to campus (all three: FAMU, TCC, and FSU), but the savings on the rent is worth it.
