This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in an apartment complex. On arrival at Windrush, I found that the apartment above mine had leaked, causing my bathroom ceiling to collapse and my apartment flooded. At that time management assured me that everything would be fixed, cleaned, and taken care of. However, after they were done, the bathroom lighting, floor, and shower were covered in debris, and I had to finish cleaning the bathroom pretty much on my own. I was also promised new carpet which was never put in.
During my stay, problems with both the toilet and the garbage disposal remained un-fixed by management after my constant complaints. The sink would overflow with soap from a laundry pipe, mixed with food from the disposal. This happened at least twice a day. The toilet would constantly run, causing me to manually fix the chain after almost every flush. Management came to attempt to fix these problems, which never amounted to anything.
After I was finally able to find another apartment to move into, management took all but $13 of my $200 security deposit, saying that I failed to clean anything. This is after I spent at least 4-5 hours cleaning before I left. Also, they charged me an extra day's rent after they expressly told me there would not be a problem with me turning my keys in the next afternoon following my vacate date.
The filthy apartments, the incompetent staff, and the horrible surroundings that I suffered from should be a warning to all to stay away from this apartment complex.
