Apartment Reviews for Jackson Properties
Don't trust Jackson Properties

My experiences with Jackson Properties still haunt me. They nickel and dime their residents to make a profit. The rent was overpriced for the condition of the property. When I didn't renew my lease, they were showing my apartment every few days, despite the fact there was an exact replica a few doors down that was empty. When I called to complain, they informed me the former resident had shut off her power and it smelled because she hadn't cleaned out the refrigerator. Since my apartment was still in working order, it meant they ushered strangers though every few days while I was at work.
After moving out, they sent a letter to me explaining outrageous charges. For example, they claimed the blinds were broken and needed to be repaired for $200, when I had taken down the blinds upon move-in to use my own the entire time I lived there. The original blinds were hung back up when I moved out, unused for an entire year!
Through my personal discussions with Mr. Jackson, he was rude and demeaning to me, raising his voice and cursing.
I would seriously suggest you find a different landlord and apartment in Tallahassee.

I am sorry you had such a negative experience with Jackson Properties. However, it is clearly written in your lease that if you don't renew we show the properties we still have available to prospective residents. We don't have models and you as a previous resident know. You too got shown a unit where someone else was living and you didn't mind it then. Also, we always accompany all prospective residents to view the places. Unlike many communities in the area we have never left a prospective resident alone inside the unit. It makes perfect sense that your unit was being shown every few days as we rotate the units we have available so that we don't disturb the same tenants every day.
If you were in fact charged $200 for blinds it means you had 4 broken/missing blinds as we charge $50 per blind for labor and materials. If you provide me with your name I would be more than happy to look up your file and provide before and after pictures of your unit and the broken blinds as we inspect the units before and after each resident moves.
I can also explain any other charges/fees to you.
We look forward to hearing from you and let us know how we can help.
Sincerely,

Terrible, Terrible company, completely agree with the original poster. These guys are horrible, they show up at your house whenever they want, even the maintenance man, not to mention hes a huge prick! There was a younger, skinnier guy and he was really cool, he'd knock every time and take care of whatever it is we called him for. However the older guy will just barge into your house when ever he so feels like it, and be as loud as he wants to be; He came once to patch a hole in the wall at like 8 in the morning, using a really loud drill as well as even whistling the entire time he was here. These guys make it nearly impossible to break your lease, so if you want out (Which you will) hopefully your able to find a sublease, thats all I gatta say. The house we were living in was labeled a 2/1, when it was actually a 3/1 that I'm sure they were lying about for insurance purposes. The houses are disgusting, its nearly impossible to keep them clean with how old and outdated they are, I can strain this enough; DO NOT ASSOCIATE WITH JACKSON PROPERTIES OF TALLAHASSEE.
