I had no problem at Avalon for 11 of the 12 months I lived there. The last month I was there, new management came in. It just so happened that that same month my car, along with 4 others, were broken into (even though there is supposed to be security driving around the complex all night!) and my radio was stolen from it. Also, there was a fire in the apartment above us (on the 5th floor) , creating a leak/flood going all the way down from the 5th to the 1st floor. Now being that I lived in the apartment right below the one with the fire, it was more than a leak, it was a rainfall in my apartment!! It was raining on all of our appliances and personal belongings. Where was management during this whole excursion you ask?...well the new property manager was at the AIRPORT picking up her daughter instead of taking care of this emergency at Avalon. The asistant manager?, well he was hiding in his office with the lights off until my roommate went down their knocking and knocking until he finally answered. We had to basically move out of our apartment that night within about 15 minutes. Did they put us in a hotel until our apartment was livable again? Nope, they sure didn't. For all they know we slept on the street that night! We ended up leaving Avalon Heights for good that night and moved all of our stuff the next day for ever. Also, in our lease it says that we will get our security deposit back within 30 days of your lease being up. Let me tell you something, I have been out of that apartment for over 6 months already and still haven't seen my security deposit yet. I have called every single week for the past 4 months asking about it and all I get is the run around saying they are working on it. Management is extremely rude and avoids talking to me completly when I come to find out what is going on. I can't belive it has been this long and I have still not seen my security deposit! Save yourself plenty of trouble. DO NOT MOVE INTO AVALON HEIGHTS!!!
