Apartment Review for Seaport Channelside

I don't even know where to begin so I guess I'll just highlight the rated areas....First of all there is NO SECURITY, so if that poses a problem for you do not live here! They may say they do, but its just a cop that lives there. I lived there almost a year and there were 10 break ins. This could have been easily avoided if their cheap ***** would have bought camers for the halls, elevators and entry doors to the building but no, instead they decide to buy palm trees for the pool area? Oh and lets not forget the new pool chairs they bought, because the old ones (the few they had) were fabric and ripped to the point where you couldn't sit in them....it took them a month to replace them.....in pool season....Parking, well if you live on the first floor there is none, it fills up quickly with all of the stupid college kids drunk friends, oh and if you have a sports car or any car that rides low, you'll have to park on the first floor because the dumbass architech designed an inverted parking garage with incorrect specifications. So if you live on the 5th floor and drive a corvette, you'll be parking on the first floor and riding the dog **** filled elevator to the top.....well if its working that it....the elevator tends to be "out of service" quite often, even if it is working you'll have to hold your breath because everyone seems to have deemed it ok to let your dog **** and **** in the elevators and hallways, so WATCH YOUR STEP! Make sure to ask where the trash is because you literally may end up living a quarter of a mile from it. The office staff used to be the worst, they finally got rid of that British Terror that had to self medicate everytime someone came in with a problem, so you wont have to deal with that mess. Word is shes workin somewhere on westshore, so if shes a property manager at an apartment your looking at.....RUN! The staff alought seem burnt out in the office are usually very nice, but act slighly inconvenience by your requests. Maintenance does what theyre supposed to, but dont necessarily expect them to be there within the "48 hour" time window. I waited on average 3-4 days, and I dont know what the **** they were doing in the mean time....I mean theyre brand new units, and its VERY obvious where they cut vital corners (ie. cheap doors) but 4 days for a new light bulb? Come on? And while we're on the topic of maintenance staff they were supposedly responsible for some of the break ins a long time ago, but I think they got rid of those people, and the current staff is very nice. They try to keep up with the outside, its looks nice but no one will pick up after their dogs, a handful of responsible pet owners pick up after their dogs, so unless you have a dog you wont want to go in the courtyards. Be careful in the courtyards too because I've heard from a close friend that middle easterns that live there (and there is a LARGE noticeable amount of them there) will point a gun out their door at 9PM. It never takes long for the cops to get their though they camp out back and circle Seaport because they know their next call is going to be right back at the good ol' port! I'm not usually one to complain about noise but its bad there. The halls echo and you can hear your own tv down the hall even if its turned down, so dont expect much privacy. Even if you have a unit with carpet the UT and USF kids will ensure that you will be woken up around 3A.M. on Tuesday or even a Wednesday if your lucky by their druk, belligerent ***** strolling in from the bars. I hope you love weed because EVERYONE there smokes and you'll smell it in the halls on a daily basis....Bring your own fire extinguisher because those same college students(yea the same loud, drunk, dope peddling kids) steal the ones in the halls and spray down the hallway and cars in the middle of the night. Overall rating of this dump is probably a 2 out of 10. Theyre trying to make "urban luxury" but with all the trash that lives there now I don't see that happening. I mean they put shotty ghetto section 8 extra "door security" hardware on all the doors lol.....what a joke....Remember though in any downtown there will be more crime, but at the good ol' port they've hardly made an effort to control it there, I don't think they're really doing backround checks.....Don't move there....
