Review for The Carlyle At Waters Apartments

During our first property tour, the property manager Suzanne (who if ound out no longer works there because she is manager at another complex) took us on the pretty side of the complex. She took us the back way where we saw the ducks and the water and from first sight it looked like it was a very nice place to live, but once we moved here-it was a different story. The garbage cans were always over filled and I would be embarrased to bring my family over because mattresses and heavy duty items that looked like it was supposed to be in a dump would be scattered around. There was dog poop all in the lawn. The security gate never worked. Dont let them fool you with 24 hour maintainance because 24 hour maintainance apllies only to certian situations. My faucet was literally broke and leaking water and it took 1 hour for somebody from maintainace to call me back and they told me that I had to wait until the morning and to put a rag over the faucet until that time. During the time that I was there, 4 peoples cars were stolen and I saw the police riding through our neighborhood on a daily basis. There was a young lady who lived downstairs from me who was harvesting someone in her apartment that had a oustanding warrant for his arrest and the guy tried to escape by jumping out the window. There was over 20 police cars, dogs and even a helicopter. I also didnot like the fact that there was always stray kitten and cats roaming. They still to this day have not fixed the gate around the wooden gate around the neighborhood that was destoryed during the hurricanes last year. Make sure that you inspect the neighborhood and ask what apartment you will be renting befor they try to assign you an apartment because your rental experience can depend on the building that you live in as well.
