I would like to share my experience at Arbor Gates. I've lived here for a few months now and have had basically no problems. I know how stressful it can be reading through these reviews and not knowing what to take seriously, etc. Truth be told I was a little nervous to sign a lease here just b/c of how many bad reviews it's gotten. I'm glad I went with MY gut and MY overall impression of the place.
I'm really surprised to read all these posts slamming the office staff! I'm a pretty easy-going person so I'm not down in the office all the much but the few times I have been down there I've been really impressed with how nice they are and the fact that they remember my name! (yeah, I'm easy to please). The couple little maintenance requests I've had have been really minor (like turn the temp. up on my water heater) but they were all done within a day or two of my requests. Also, I've never once felt the least bit threatened or unsafe in my time living here. The outside/parking lot area is very well lit and the location is set off of major roads just enough that you're close to everything but tucked away from where people would just be wandering through.
The one downside I could maybe agree with is visitor parking. I have my own spot under the building in the garage so it's always there. However, any guests that I have over sometimes have to get a little creative with where to park - but we always figure something out (without parking in someone else's spot, if you do this, you'll get towed that's just the way it goes). As far as the highspeed internet thing, it's not lightening fast (may have a little to do with my computer being old!) but it's pretty reliable and hey, it's free!
Anyway, all the people I've met here have been really nice! Considering there's never a perfect apartment complex, I've been very happy with Arbor Gates. If you're thinking about signing a lease but you're unsure feel free to email me at SRose125@aol.com - I'll be glad to tell you anything I know!
