I lived in this apartment complex for 9 months. I was happy until I left my apartment. The way they deal with you when you leave is, in my humble opinion, not appropriate. I will try my best to describe the situation...you judge...It seems like a lot of people have trouble with Arbor Gates management (which seems to change too often)
When I left, I left my contact information with them, so they could call me or write me if they needed. One and a half months later I received a letter that I had to pay for some damages. I am normally a reasonable man, but the listed items were not reasonable, and even more important, the costs to repair them were astronomical. Furthermore, I had to pay, and I could not fix some of the items myself, (even while I disagreed), because they had already rented out the aprtment to someone else. So, I had to pay or they would send a collection agency after me.
I felt trapped. There is no way I was even able to talk with these people. This could all have been prevented if I would have been physically present during their walk through. I never knew about this and they never bothered telling me about it.
So, I think they could have done a much better job. My recommendation to you is to be aware of this when you leave...make sure you are at the walk through because management is not going to tell you and only send you a damages list. And also, beware that they will list the tiniest issues and put ridiculous high prices to correct them.
I have lived in many apartment complexes and have never had any trouble leaving. This is my first experience with such a nitty gritty, un-ethical management organization.
BTW: I must add the following. It feels like the community is going down the hill anyway. Someone had broken into a car in the locked parking garage. In addition, a colleague of mine who lives there too has heart gun shots.
Parking is tight. You will get a designated parking lot, but other people will use it from time to time leaving you with nothing. My car was even seriously damaged on the front one time when I was parked on my own parking lot.
One thing is positive. When I had a problem in my apartment they came fix it as soon as possible.
Good luck.
