Review Title:   New Management

I have lived here since March 2005. Everything the previous reviewer has said is generally true (although the rats, which I never saw, have been replaced with 4 or 5 stray cats that are apparently keeping the problem at bay). The landscaping and appearance is the best on Briarcliff Road ---- similar to Post Briarcliff but way less expensive. The floor plans and closet space are spacious for the money. Originally I had a silverfish problem that $3 worth of boric acid and a little diligence has eliminated completely. The caterpillar problem supposedly occurs every other spring and maintenance was quick to spray the trees around the complex. I had always been impressed with maintenance; they were superb. I am kosher and they switched out my dishwasher for a new one. You could log a basic service request online around 2PM and it would be taken care of before you got home from work. The staff was priceless, very friendly with wonderful character. The problem now is that the apartment complex has been taken over by new management and they SUCK. There are more people working but less getting done; it's like watching a corporate takeover. If they increase rent I will be forced to move on principle alone. There is no line of communication with the front office except by phone and therefore no way to track the progress of your request except by telephone tag. Most people in the 21st century don't have time for that crap. As far as the immigrant problem that was mentioned earlier, it is mostly true, but if you are that intolerant you should be able to shell out the 150 grand + upkeep that it would take to buy a comparable condo in the same area. The bottom line is that if you are not ready to buy your own place, this is the next best thing. If you didn't know the previous management and staff, you probably will get used to what you get. If you did live with the previous staff I would complain like banshees until they step up or start shopping for mortgages. I am undecided about which I option I will take.
