I have lived at this apartment complex for more than 3 years. Previously, my experiences at this complex were good, until they were taken over by new management. They have been here for a year, and the complex has been going down ever since. The apartments are old, and not insulated, so your gas bill for the cold months can range from $200 to $500, and they do not maintain the apartments such as weatherstripping your doors & windows, so it feels as though you are outside. You will have to wear a coat in your home, even with the heat on. They come into your apartment with other employees, cut off your alarm system and take photographs of your home, all of this is WITHOUT your permission, and to top it off, they do not even reset your alarm, thus leaving you open for burgulary. The management's customer service and people skills are null and void. They do not know how to talk to people properly, and they treat you nasty until they figure out if they can use you or get something from you. You can walk into the leasing office, and on a good day, you might stand there for a couple of minutes before they either 1.) Come up front to acknowledge you or 2.) Speak to you. When you come to view apartments, they will take anything of value that you have if you do not have a drivers license for them to hold, and recently, the item was stolen from within the office, that only the staff has access to. They advertise free laundry service, but in fact they charge you $45 for a water bill. They used to use good detergent, like Tide, but have now switched to some industrial cleaner that you can clean floors with to wash the clothes, and people have started to break out in skin rashes, because of the use of a multi-cleaner solution, instead of laundry detergent. The garbage area is constantly nasty and full, where you cannot even put your trash into the receptacle. The maintenance men ride around playing bumper cars all day. They are constantly crashing into each other, running over things and racing around the property. They feature a modern gym, which only consist of two treadmills, and a couple other machines. The community room under the gym, is never available for the tenants to use. It is filled with pieces of cabinets and trash. It has never been available to use, ever since I have moved in, it has been closed. Cars are constantly being broken into, as well as apartments. Some tenants apartments were broken into, but the complex as a whole, has never been notified. They advertised free pest control, which we used to get until the new management took over, and it has been a whole year since it has been done, now you have to call and request for it to be done. The corporate office, nevers answers their phone, let alone respond to your messages. They offer a $300 referral to get people to move in, but then after the tenant moves in, they do not want to pay you the referral. They have flooding problems, so make sure that you inquire about that issue. This is in a prime location, but they are totally run down, and you don't realize it, until you sign the lease and it is too late. There are new apartments sprouting up around this complex, that offers a more modern living arrangement, and they cost the same if not less. Like stated before, all of this could be tolerated when you are dealing with good people that try, but this new management company is horrible, and their lack of professionalism and couth, just makes you not want to deal or live around them.
