For a person first moving to Atlanta, I was looking for a new apartment complex that would be clean and safe near Georgia Tech. I could not have picked a worse place! When I moved in 2004, the apartment complex was slowing opening and I was promised the security gates would be functioning within 2 weeks of me moving in. 3 months later they still weren't functioning. A week after I moved in, there was gunfire in the apartment parking lot. On numerous occassion I had vagrants knocking on my door asking for money or food. There were drug deals going on in the hallways. When I talked to the leasing office, they said that it would be taken care of. I never saw this supposed "security guard" and the gates were always opening for cars that I knew did not belong there. I won't even begin with all the trash. One small dumpster was obviously not adequate for the facility leaving most tenants to leave trash in the hallways. The walls and ceilings were so thin I could hear loud music at all hours of the night, arguments, and I swear I had elephants living above me. Cars were broken into on a regular basis. My car's headlights were kicked in twice during this time period and the response was "we're working on it". Don't move here if you value safety, your personal belongings or peace and quiet!
