Don't Even Consider Living Here!!

I have been a resident here for several years - in fact, just after the building opened. Trust me when I tell you that this place has gone from a pleasant-enough-luxury-wannabe to an utter shithole. Filthy common areas, shoddy construction, some office staff that is borderline- abusive, evidence of cost-cutting everywhere and, most importantly, security that would be an embarassment in a BUDGET building. On this latter issue, the parking lot security gate and/or control arm are broken or inoperable as often as not. One such period lasted several months. Bring these concerns to the attention of the office staff? OK, but expect the following: 1) "The maintenance staff is incredibly busy" 2) "It's only been broken for four days" 3) "We spend thousands of dollars on security" 4) "We deal with a vendor and it normally takes a few days for them to come out" 5) "Maintenance didn't know it was broken" You can also expect to be treated as if you are crazy, unreasonable, or - I'm not joking - a liar. Of course, the above begs several questions- such as: 1) Why in the world does maintenance have to be INFORMED of a security issue? 2) How in the world does a property that is failing miserably in doing its part in keeping security adequate, have the audacity to distribute flyers to tenants advising them how they can "protect themselves"? 3) How does said management have the nerve to completely close one entrance to the parking deck, forcing residents to deal with the congestion of the valet parking entrance - making some of us not even want to dare go out in the evenings or on weekends? DON'T make the mistake of living here. But if you DO, expect management to ATTEMPT to raise your rent considerably when your lease is up for renewal. Presumably, the rent increase is used to provide all the wonderful service and amenities available here.
