I moved here almost a year ago. When i toured the place i had an orgasm upon entering. I pay 1163/ mo to live in my very beautiful 1200sf, hardwood floors, french doors, new kitchen and painted accent walls. However, from the very beginning people allowing their dogs to bark continuously off the balcony, squeeky floors (which got fixed), and a crazy leasing agent who lived directly under me made my lfe here a nightmare. She would use her weight to keep me from watching TV, vacuuming in the middle of the afternoon, and constantly have noise violations put on my door even when I was out oftown. i am not a loud person and I keep to myelf and I expevt the same. Since she has moved out of my building there has been no problem with noise complaints. Now the problem is just with the staff. Dexter the manager is great! However, Kayla who is new likes to keep up with everyones business.
I had paid my rent two months in advance. Well since I din't know what my water bill was going to be in advance, i didn't include it. when the water portion of my bill was 5 days late I got two phone calls, a voicemail mesage, and an email demanding the money. I get thecheck down to them by that afternoon and it then takes them 9 days to deposit the check. This was my fault because I should have kept track, but I usually use bill pay online, but this time i wrote a check. i forgot about it when doing my numbers and when the check cleared it overdrafted my account. I feel it is very rude to dispupt someone so senselessly then to hold a check that long.
The next few weeks there are signs posted on all the entrences about scooping poop. monthly newsletters talking about poop, then i get a call on a Sunday afternoon telling me that my roommate did not clean up after her dog. I had to go on a huge explanation about the agreement we have with animals. they don't shit on sidewalk, we don't walk in grass. But besides that the dog goes way into the bushes to relieve himself. Me and my roommate are not going into the bushes for poop.
I then paid my rent in advance by 19 days and I'll be damned if they did not wait to deposit the check until 5 days after it was due. they have plenty of time to call me repeatedly about water bill, threaten community with fines if we don't play with poop, but they can't be considerate enought to cash a check within a reasonable time.
Even after my roommate was long gone, i am still being accused of not cleaning up after a dog I do not have. Now in the recent community paper the last portion dedicated itself to cleaning up after dogs. Threatened with fines and then the icing on the cake they will be rewarding those persons who report those who aen't scooping poop.
i have never lived in an apartment community that is so in my business, in my life, and in my face. I cannot wait tto leave, my lease is up in September and I have been looking since April.
the other problem is parking. i work late nights, but it is beyond me that on Friday and Saturday nights you cannot find parking at all.
