I love the apartment you get more then what you pay. I love Ms. Felecia in management she very friendly and helpful. The vibe in the building is great young and old im 25 its perfect. I left the building after my lease and I will be returning to renew another lease. Only downfall is the crackhead near the gas station but overall i love the community especially Peter St.

I honestly never leave reviews, maybe it's because I'm lazy at times. I currently live at Artist Square and trust me, It's a great place to live for the price. If your worried about crack-heads or car break-ins, you shouldn't move to downtown Atlanta. Someone commented about the gym and the underground parking. I don't understand why they would complain. Do you expect to have a L.A. Fitness style gym in a apartment style condo? The underground parking gate was broke for about a month, which is the first time I've seen it broke. I do think it took awhile to replace, but i respect management for keeping us in the loop with emails. This place is at least 85% African American with a mix of college kids and older folks. The violence is absolutely none in the building which is amazing. Thanks to a couple of friends, I'm lucky I found this place. If your reading this and thinking about moving here, please come check it out for yourself before making a decision. Also, It is a lady on the 4th floor who is noisy and a little weird at times. She's an old school lady who likes to know all of her neighbors. I'm lucky I'm not on the 4th floor but she's pretty nice once u meet her. It's not always bad to have an extra set of eyes watching.

I lived in Artist Square just under a year; and I must say my stay was comfortable for the most part. Management is great and most of the renters are older college students and a good mix of yuppies and older ppl. When work orders are put in they are usually fixed within a week. Managment is very friendly and for the price you won't find anything *** nicer. It's not in the best area by no means so allways have to be aware of your surroundings, and crackheads are everywhere so if you move here you will have to deal with being asked for change every time you enter the building or go to the gas station next door this might not be the place for you. Also if you plan on moving to the 4th floor know you are going to have to deal with a Bat *hit Crazy woman... No exaggeration she is crazy she has a camera in front of her door and don't think you can have more than 5 guest without her calling security or the police even if you live at the opposite side of the hallway. She leaves nasty notes on the stairs door and has even tied a knot so that renters can not use the stairs because "she doesn't want anyone slamming the door" to bad the fire marshal didn't agree with her. She is the the superintendent of the building that no one ever asked for. If you have ever seen bewitched there is no better way to describe her that the crazy next door neighbor always in everyone's business it's almost funny now that I have moved out. Word around the building is that she is a lonely Alcoholic who does nothing but sit in her apartment smoke ciggerattes watch her cameras and spy ok her neighbors looking at every guest to enter just in case she needs to call security. So all in all Artist Square is a GREAT place to live outside of having the one crazy neighbor. Also if you are a college student know that this is not a dorm and Management does not wish to cater to students despite it being walking distance from Spelman Morehouse and Clarks campus.

I have been living here since August of 2008. I can't wait until my lease is up. Management is not good at all. When I first signed my lease, I was told there was going to be security. Wrong! We have had several car break ins and they refuse to refund anyone even their own residents. I was told that I should not park my car outside of the gates. However there was a break in the underground parking. They said well the lady had valuables out in her car. Regardless of whether or not she had valuables, she was parked in the so called safe area to park. We finally got security and when we did, there were still break in because we share security with Intown lofts, stonewall lofts and legacy lofts which is the next block up. Tell me how that works. You have security come over here once every hour. The crackheads are not that dumb. They know the schedule of security. One of my friends cars was broken into when we had "security." Her car registration was stolen along with some cds. She also had to get another back window put in. Did Artist Square do anything about it? Uh NO!
I had to ask for a new air filter because mine had not been changed since I had moved in in August. Mind you it was February and air filters should be changed about once a month. There are disgusting bugs even after they call themselves spraying. The other morning I woke up to a huge black bug waiting for me at my door. Boy was I excited. I can't even walk around barefoot in my own apartment in fear that I might step on a centipede which has happened before. So I came up with a nightly routine. Before I go to bed I have to spray around the door to keep the centipedes from coming in. When I wake up I find them laying in the raid dead and I have to sweep them outside. As much money as I pay in rent I should not have to spend extra money on cans of Raid.
To make matters worse, I am a college student and I need to study. However it is very difficult to study here because the walls are paper thin! I can hear my neighbors conversations even the one above me. I can hear their tvs, music, you name it I can hear it.
The gym sucks. There are literally 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, and maybe three other kinds of machines. This would not be bad if you didn't have two buildings sharing one gym. The rooftop terrace is actually nice. They finally put some furniture up there. Before you just had to sit on the ground or bring your own. But the table they put up there broke because of the wind. They failed to clean up broken glass for a couple of days. So you had to watch where you stepped so you wouldn't get glass stuck in your foot. Oh and did i mention, you can't have more than five guest with you or its considered a party and you have to then pay for it.
The upside of things is the apartments look nice. If anything I will miss the layout of my apartment.
