Best Kept Secret In The Area

I am probably the pickiest person I know when it comes to choosing an apartment. I have lived in Atlanta for 8 years and moved probably 6 times. Throughout those 8 years, I have looked at probably 75 properties so I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about a lot of the properties in the area. After living at Calibre Springs for a year I am renewing my lease and plan on becoming a long-term resident. Here is why:

Location: I work in the perimeter area and it's about a 5 minute commute for me. It's off of a "main road," less than a mile from 285, walking distance from a brand new shopping center (publix, target, staples, a bunch of restaurants etc...) yet it's tucked away back behind everything in a small wooded community. I didn't even know it was there until someone pointed it out to me.

Noise: Being close to all of the things mentioned above you might think it would be noisy. Not so. I think I could hear music from the apartment below me like 1 time in an entire year. The only other noise that I hear is from some workers repairing one of the buildings (about 100 yards from my building) from some fire damage about 6 months ago. Even that, I only notice on the rare occasion that I actually come home for lunch on a weekday. I think they're getting close to being done anyway. The building I live in is an older one so the walls are "thicker" than new places and this helps keep it very quiet.

Parking: I'd say 90% of the time I get a parking space right in front of my building. The only time I have had some trouble is the rare occasion that I get home after midnight. Even then I've never had to park more that 1 building away.

Safety: I have had no problems and have not heard of any. I leave my windows open a lot and even my car trunk when I'm carrying groceries in. I feel that comfortable.

Construction: As I mentioned before the buildings are older, but for me this is good because back when they were built people didn't use the cheapest thinnest materials they could find. The structure is solid and because of the materials used, also quieter. However, if granite counter tops, hard wood floors, marble sinks, and golden toilets with diamond flushers are your thing then you won't find that here. You will find wooden cabinets and tile counter tops kept in great shape. So no real bells & whistles but has everything that I need and is in very good condition.

Grounds: Again no giant fountains or crystal statues but nice greenery and is very well kept. I rarely see any trash in the parking areas or at the pool. A good number of people walk their dogs and I have yet to see any "evidence" of that "left behind."

Maintenance: I had a light bulb go out and they repaired it the next day. I accidentally broke my blinds (don't ask) and they gave me brand new ones within a day. I have allergies so I called and asked if it would be too much trouble to check and see if the air filter needed to be replaced. They automatically change it every (i think) 3 months, but they came anyway and replaced mine.

Staff: In every one of my previous apartments, the staff and management has completely changed between the day I moved in and the day I moved out. I signed my renewal today and it's the same management and most of the leasing agents are still here. A lot of the apartments I have visited usually have like 1 or 2 staff available. At Calibre Springs I have never had to wait more than 30 seconds to be helped and more often than not there are 3 leasing agents available, even on weekdays. I am currently in a two bedroom waiting for a specific 1 bedroom to become available and just last week one of the leasing agents spent about an hour and a half with me just talking and answering all of my 1 million questions and going over the best option for me. They know most of the residents by name and a good percentage of the staff live on the property which, to me, says a lot. Overall I can honestly say that this is the best experience I've had with staff at any apartment complex I have lived in.

Residents: There is a good mix of people here and most are very friendly. They have "social events" like every other place, but the one's that I've gone to there are actually a lot of people at them, which is pretty cool. Let's just say that I am a young professional and I am happy with my fellow residents.

Price: Compared to many of the other "similar" places I have looked at, Calibre has the best square-footage-to-the-buck ratio that I have come across.

It's a beautiful day outside, I took the day off, and there are a lot of things I'd rather be doing that writing a review of an apartment complex. So I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't think they deserved the Kudos.
