Apartment Reviews for Dewberry Isle Apartments - Atlanta

I have lived here, happily, for two years and love how convenient it is to everything...285, Buckhead, Sandy Springs, etc. Nothing seems to be more than 20 minutes away. I do love living here. But with the good there is also the bad.

They've done recent upgrades to the apartments which is both a blessing and curse. It's never pleasant to be awoken by construction crews early in the morning. Or have to walk past them, staring, to get to my car every day. But, I can get over that. I'm personally not a fan of painting brick. However, I understand that it's an easy, and affordable way to maintain. The upgrades include tile in the "foyer," kitchen and bathroom. Love it. New cabinets and countertops in the kitchen...it's an improvement. The lighting, sink and appliances in the kitchen are major upgrades. Love the stainless steel! There is new carpet throughout and fresh paint. I was disappointed that they didn't replace the blinds. I moved into a "new" apartment that had broken blinds in each room. I would have loved to see a new tub in the bathroom, but a new sink was there instead.

There is all new equipment in the work-out room which is all high quality and I'm very appreciative of that! HUGE improvement from the 1970's equipment that was in there when I moved in. Unfortunately there is already equipment missing. Who steals a 10 lb. kettle ball and weight bar!? Hopefully nothing else will end up missing.

The apartment walls/floors/ceilings are thin, so I pray for quiet (or no) neighbors.

What I cannot rave about is management. I loved the old manager and prior/current leasing staff. However, the new leasing manager is terrible. She's unprofessional and rude. She hides in her office and then snatches things out of her employees’ hands and takes over. I've seen her eat food right off her employees desk (while they were sitting there...also eating) - right in front of me. She has gone through her employees desk (while they were sitting there), like they weren't even there. It's very apparent that she feels she is the only capable person there. However, the exact opposite is true. Maybe she doesn't see the other people in the office, or maybe she's just a *****. She has a bitchy attitude to everyone and seems to enjoy walking over people. I feel bad for the leasing staff that has to work with her every day. They are friendly and have a proven track record of competency. She on the other hand is not competent - at all. I, and several neighbors, have received inaccurate notices on our doors for various minor and major things, which she was responsible for. She never has a reason, or apology, for her blatant incompetence. She intimidates people and I'm pretty sure no one has stood up to her for fear that she'll kick them out. (She comes off as a cold-hearted ***** on a power trip.) She has changed the entire office atmosphere. It's no longer a friendly, happy office due to her bad attitude and lack of professionalism. I'm pretty sure the whole neighborhood, at least those who have had contact with her, would love to see her go. Good riddance!
