I've lived in Gramercy over the past year and have really enjoyed my time here. My apartment is beautiful/ spacious, and I've enjoyed the amenities.
Before moving into Gramercy, I had my doubts especially after readying some of the old reviews about parking and safety. It might help that I'm on the top floor, but I've felt incredibly safe in this complex, and I've barely dealt with any parking issues - especially now that they've expanded guest parking to the entire top floor of the deck. Highly recommend for those in their young - mid 20s looking for a nice place to live near the Buckhead shopping/dining/night scene!

I am so sad to read all these reviews. I have lived in 5 apartment communities in the past 4 years all in this neighborhood and there was also a shooting in one of those. Unfortunately these things do happen. But here at Gramercy it was handled with the upmost respect to residents. I feel better knowing it was an isolated incident. The staff is always accomodating and I am right by the dog run which is so convenient for my two dogs. And I love that I can walk to all the bars!!!
I love it here

I moved into Gramercy at Buckhead a couple of months ago, and it has been a very pleasant experience. The staff is accomodating and the few issues I've had have been handled promptly. The housekeeper and maint. staff are always willing to go out of their way to help me. I was carrying heavy boxes one day, and oen fo them stopped what he was doing to help me carry them. I love the updated stainless steel applicances and modern layout of my apartment. The location is amazing! I just wanted to put my two cents in because I know when people are upset they vent through the review system, and its not always fair.

My roommate and I moved here to Gramercy a little over 7 months ago and we are appalled by some of these reviews! Yes Parking is sometimes difficult, but what do you expect for the location? And to say this place is dirty and has bad staffing is ridiculous! I know that every body is entitled to their opinion but come on people!

My best friend and I have been here over a year and a half and we love it. We read the reviews and immediately felt we had to say something positive as every other review is so negative!
Yes there is definitely noise sometimes, but you are in the heart of Buckhead so what would you expect?! Parking was bad a while back but ever since they have put reserved parking in place we have had no problems. The best part of living here is the location: walk to ALL the bars, restaurants etc... all the nice neighbors we have met and the office/maintenance staff!

Safety - My only complaint here is that the gate is worthless. It is always broken and people tail me in all the time and are probably not residents.
Parking - They changed 90% of the spots near my apartment to reserved, so I am now forking over extra money every month so I don't have to park on the top level.
Location/Appearance - Well kept and maintained, great location. I have an issue with people not being responsible and respectful enough to clean up after their dog, though. If you can't be bothered to take 20 seconds to pick up after your dog (with the scented bags they provide), perhaps you aren't responsible enough to have a pet.
Office staff - Most are very friendly, some are very arrogant and I don't like to deal with.
Maintenance - I've had 3 minor issues and they were resolved within 24 hours.
Condition of Unit - Great! But you'd expect that since these are barely 2 years old.
Noise - This is what gets me. I am 28 -- definitely not old. But I work a corporate job. I value my sleep. My hallway is a glorified dorm. I am woken up btwn 2:00am-4:00am several times a week. I don't know how these college kids afford to live here without their parents paying or having 5+ living in an apartment! GO BACK TO THE DORMS!! I am not paying $1000 to get woken up nightly by drunken idiots.
Overall - I will be moving when my lease is up, before if I can, but I've been told it's difficult. In the end, the good doesn't really outweigh the bad and it certainly doesn't equal $1000.
I've had better...

Safety - not that great. Live on an upper floor.
Parking - awful, unless you want to pay $50 a month for a reserved good spot
Location/Appearance - great, obviously
Office staff - friendly and helpful, but I feel like they are always trying to put one over on me with extra charges not given upfront
Maintenance - guys are quick and top notch probably because everything doesn't work correctly the first time
Condition of Unit - see last item
Noise - like any city apt. (cars, sirens, etc.), but otherwise residents are great around me
Overall - I'm definitely looking somewhere else when my lease is up unless they do some major changes or give me a better deal

My husband and I have lived at Gramercy since April 2008. We chose it because it was nice and was close to both of our places of work; and we were offered incentives to sign a lease.
Our unit is beautiful--the kitchen appliances are black/stainless GE, and the cabinets are warm and modern-looking; the bathroom is large and has travertine tile; and there nice touches like plantation-style blinds and moldings and chair-rails throughout. We especially appreciate that our unit *came with a washer and dryer*. This is so rare for apartment complexes, even the nice ones!
Our apartment does face the pool, and we did feel constantly harassed by the loud music and partying that went on most weekends during the warm weather. The management were very hands-off about the situation, and this was frustrating. We eventually just started calling the police and informing the people at the pool that we had called the police; that seemed to remedy the noise situation much better than trying to go through the management. Also, Gramercy is in the heart of Buckhead, so you can expect to hear drunk college students/recent grads yelling in the halls on weekend evenings (this happens infrequently on our hall, thank goodness). Most of these people are just young and thoughtless; they don't mean any harm and they're mostly apologetic if they're told that they're disturbing others.
Parking is becoming an issue. The corporate office decided not long ago that they would start *charging* for assigned spaces. It can be a challenge to come home after 6pm and try to find a 'free' (unassigned) place to park in. (We refuse to pay an extra $25-50/month for parking, on top of our already-high rent.) We resent that this stunt was pulled on us mid-way through our lease, which we signed when parking was free.
Another note about parking--we have had a big problem with sketchy people following behind us into the complex when we go through the gate. Management has the opportunity to fix this by keeping the arm in front of the gate fixed. However, sketchy people regularly break the arm and Management has not been prepared to keep on top of the problem and keep it fixed. They do, however, seem to have time and money to throw tenant 'hospitality events' like Halloween goodie bags, etc. I would rather have consistent parking security than random, unnecessary hospitality events! I agree with the other reviews--the security guy seems to be there only for show. However, we have not ever felt truly unsafe or witnessed or been victims of any crime here. I was very surprised to read about break-ins in other reviews.
We have been pleased with the maintenance staff--they are prompt and have fixed things the first time, with no need for additional follow-up. I think we only had to call them once, for the garbage disposal. The buildings and units are brand new (2007), so most everything in our unit and in the complex in general is in good condition.
Overall, this place is about par for the course for a 'nice' apartment complex. As with all high-density housing, a lot of the quality of the experience is determined by how conscientious and thoughtful your neighbors are. If you have clean, well-behaved neighbors, you'll have a great experience; if you don't, well.... The safety is about as good as it gets, and the units and overall upkeep of the place are very good. My husband and I have lived in quite a few complexes since college, including a Post Property, and this is by far the nicest, though our neighbors were more respectful at Post. Gramercy is a little on the expensive side, and we will probably 'downgrade' to a smaller, less expensive unit, but we do plan to stay. I would definitely recommend Gramercy if you are going to be renting.
Very Impressed!

YES there were breakins but there were several in the area, not just us and it the staff was very upfront about it and security has increased since and is very present!

Overall I have really loved and enjoyed living in this apartment complex. The majority of the residence seem to be just out of college so you can expect the weekends to be noise packed with parties all over the complex. The worst is the mornings after "party" nights when there is broken beer bottles all over the place and you can find the doors to the garage shattered from some drunk kid trying to break it down. It is a nice complex if you have a dog and live on the lower floor. There is a nice fenced in dog lawn. But there is only one elevator per building which can be a pain especially I you have a dog on the top floor.
Overall the place is great if you are a student or in your younger 20's. If you want peace and quite this is not the place for you.

Comples is gated and you've got 2 dead bolts but recently i was home sleeping in one morning. Even though there was a knock at the door i just stayed in bed thinking they would go away. A few moments later, the door came crashing in. Burgulars broke the door down with just about 3 kicks. Both the police and the 3rd party construction guys who came later said the door frame was put in very cheaply with virtually no bracing. All the local maintenance guy would say was that "you can't expect to really secure". They couldnt find a formal replacement door for about a week. Instead of putting up a temporary replacement door, the complex wanted to just nail the shattered door back together in the interim. Amaziningly, thought i was almost going to have to call my lawyer. Eventually, i got them to put a "real" temporary door in place while waiting on the formal replacement to arrive, 6 days later! I'm a big guy and really afraid of much but knowing how easily and quickly the door can come down has just taken the joy out of staying here. New complex, nice parking, etc. but knowing that a quick walk down to the gym for 15 minutes can result in my laptop or other belongings being gone when i get back just overshadows all the good stuff about this complex. On another note, there are people with sub-woofers all around me. On a visit the place does you everyyhing you'd expect from an upscale gated community in buckhead but given my recent breakin plus the noise, can't say i'd recommend anyone to stay here. *online form only allows to 2006 as max dates, so thought i mention my tay was from late 2007 thru spring 2008. also this complex was formally known as Westcheser at Buckhead. <P>
