Apartment Reviews for Moanalua Hillside Apartments
Run!

Okay, I've lived at Moanalua Hillside through the entire renovation. They only make it LOOK good! They threw in the cheapest possible Berber carpet in the bedrooms so that they could say "Berber."
When they remodeled the kitchen and bath, they only removed the surfaces, so they added a face-lift of new cabinet doors and drawers, but the frame behind is still rotting, stinking (and now painted), roach and carpenter ant infested particle board!
They ignored the rest of the flooring so you will be living on a floor you would normally see in a school house and once that initial wax coating is gone, you have to scrub on your hands and knees just to get it clean.
Every single year since I've been there they have raised the rent. The last letter I saw claims that the typical rent will now be $1345. Plus you pay utilities on top of that at about 50 per person per month. If they think you have "a view" they add $30. If you want AC you can have it now ... for another additional fee.
The security is good, the parking is reasonable, the pool and fitness centers are nice, but if they REALLY wanted to be a nice place to live, they would have put real wood cabinets in and replaced the flooring. The cabinet drawers are fashioned out of metal that is painted. Guess how long it will take for those to rust? Have you ever seen those long cabinets with the little sliding doors that they used to put under mirrors? Ever seen one that WASN'T rusted? And the cabinet doors and drawers are some sort of plastic (very thin) laminate that only LOOKS like wood! Eventually these plastic coatings are going to wear out or get gouged. cheap, cheap, cheap! About the stupidest renovation Ive ever seen! After going through all that trouble to move tenants out o their units into new ones and going in and remodeling each one, they made a big mistake by putting in the cheapest possible everything because in another five years its going to look like **** again.
