Apartment Review for Moanalua Hillside Apartments

Will here's the break down, I decided not to take the unit that I never seen, don't know where it was located or even went over paper work for it. Came in gave them a check for deposite to hold a unit and a check for credit reference. When I was approved I was told that in order for approval I had to make payments by certified money order or cashier check. I was ok, I later went online and looked at reviews and read not so good things about the place and my highest concern was safety. because I'm a single mom with a 7mos old infant, I wasn't going to take the chance. The mangement told me the place was safe and secured but according to reviews it wasn't and the comments dated well back in 2004. I mean its 2010 and it hasn't changed. Well anyway when I called to deny the offer, they told me I was unable to get my $250 deposite back because it was over 24hrs since they recieved it. I got not documents or verbally told by them. I was unaware of this. I told them I wasn't approved until three days later. she said regardless of the approval its states that on the paper. I told her I never got a paper that states that, and all she told me when I went down there is what was needed by the cosigner and thats it. I lost out on a total of $300 dollars. Well I told her that it was not right and i'm going to look into it. I'm not letting them get away with this.
