Apartment Reviews for Oasis At Waipahu
Say no to oasis at Waipahu, save yourself the head

We were so excited to discover a 2bedroom/1.5 bath for about the same price we were paying for a 2bd/1bath unit without a kitchen. We came to oasis at Waipahu from waimanalo a few times to speak to the lease officer and checked around the area. We held a unit and changed it after checking out the area one night during a weekend. There was a BBQ party and people being loud and drinking. We don't mind people having fun, but that was a bad sign that it might be rowdy too often. So we changed to another unit.
The day we signed the lease, the unit was getting cleaned up so we couldn't check the unit itself. I even said if it looks like the model unit, it'll be fine. Im so regretful that I didn't come into the unit! The floor creaks very loudly. We choose to move from our place in waimanalo because it was too noisey! And we have to live with the noise made inside and outside. At first, I got scared there were noise coming from the upstairs even though I was downstairs. But we concluded it has to be the next door neighbors walking too hard. When they talk loud we can hear them. They woke us up one night. Our solution to the noise is turning on the fan or air conditioner to buffer the sound. So we can't keep the windows open to enjoy the breeze at night.
We've called security for them to stop the late night parties on the week days. But it doesn't stop them to be loud. Thank goodness we have the ac.
We also decided on this place because they said they maintain their amenities they offer such as the computer/business room, gym, pool, security, on-site laundry, etc. Trust me, if u have any standards at all, u will not like any of these amenities. The computer room has two older computers. It's not worth it. The gym looks big because of the mirrored walls. There seem to be a decent amount of equipment but it's just an illusion. There's one treadmill, one elliptical that is broken, two upright bikes-one has been broken for as long I've been here, and a few weight machines. I went to use the elliptical once, and now it's broken. I wonder how long it will take them to get it fixed.
The pool gets closed for maintainence. So I haven't gotten the chance to use it. But now I wouldn't trust putting my baby in the water. When it was closed, the first time, some rowdy boys broke the handle bars and they had closed it for a month or so. I asked if they were going to change the water and they didn't give me a clear answer. So I doubt they ever drain it. I asked a neighbor that have been here 10 years, said she thinks they drain it twice in those years.

And if you don't mind the cockroaches, they still have them inside and outside the units. We constantly have to use pesticides. The roaches are huge!! When we first came into the unit, there were a handfull dead on the floor. We really had to clean out the roaches. Now we see them outside our steps and I found a dried up one in the storage area in the bathroom. There are also little black ants that bite. I've woken up with a red zit like bump on my side. We don't eat upstairs where all the bedrooms are so idk why there are ants. And of course, the termites. Those little bugs are gross! I found them in the stroller because I keep the extra stroller outside. Oops. And do u love those chirping geckos?! They love to come into the unit and poop and make noise. They come through the air conditioners and the doors.
Most of my complaint is just from the NORMAL hawaiian lifestyle. We have to live with bugs and rude attitudes.
So don't believe in the name OASIS. Here we are not happy with what they sold us on. We are paying more in utility than b4. Water is $19. Sewer is $60. Trash
is $22. We had to pay $400 electricity deposit. Nobody said we could get it waived if did the direct payment. I overheard while in their office filling up the laundry card that costs $5!
The laundry facility is filthy!!!! The lease officer said they had just replaced it with new washers. But it smells. They post a note to not use powder soap, but obviously some people don't read English! I need to upload my recording of that place. There were dryer sheets all over, powder soap on the floor, the ac wasn't working, and the ac unit is covered in years of dust! Trust me, u will be sick to your stomach thinking how dirty the washer/dryers are. You could someday find a condom wrapper in your laundry. Like I did. True! It wasn't ours.
It is unfortunate you feel this way. The property has a routine termite treatment. They have a new staff in place and all are excited and eager to make Oasis a nice place to call home.
