Review for Coachlight-Willowbrook Apartments

Renting in carbondale is a crap shoot. Most places are dumps that charge an arm and a leg, but some are nice --but still rent is high. Coachlight isnt a dump, but it isnt far off. Fake wood paneling, brown shag carpet, 1950-60's appliances, grimey looking linoleum, deplorable office/maint/mangament (if you could even call it that) all make this place out to be overpriced and generally not worth your money.

Maint consists of the manager, Larry Edgerton, or his son (a kid who lives on site and goes to junior college), or an office worker. Larry is a overall ass to deal with: "do you know how to use a deadbolt?" was a question I got when he gave me the key to the place.

If by some remote chance you still consider living here. TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU MOVE IN.

They are after your security deposit, and WILL get it unless you have documentation. They charged me 5 hours of labor @ $16+ an hour to clean a 10 square foot (literally its that small) kitchen that was spotless before i left. You must prove that the place needed a weeks worth of scrubbing when you moved in. Plus you are required to have those beautiful shag carpets professionally cleaned before you leave or they charge you $135 (I call BS if my carpet had been prof. cleaned in 30 years).

Overall, there is much better out there in C-dale, certainly with nicer facilities and more professional management.

RENT ELSEWHERE!!!
