Review for 2716 N Hampden Court Apartments

I've lived in two apartments besides 2716 N Hampden, and I must say that it has been the worst, by far. The management is the terrible, they are extremely rude and often intrusive. When I first moved in I was carrying over internet service from my previous apartment, and as a consumer I am aware of my rights AS a consumer and that I have the freedom to choose who I pay for services. When I tried having my service set up, the Super went down as the serviceman was setting up and cut the wires to my apartment claiming that He and the "management" would get sued because they had an arrangement with Comcast to make the building Comcast exclusive, and in turn the management company gets financial kick backs. Now, having taken college-level economics classes, I'm fully aware that this is an illegal practice as well as an aptly named board game called monopoly. When I called the management office I was then yelled at and chastised for trying to continue a service that I was PAYING for. The next incident came a few months later when the tiles in my shower, seemingly new, began to fall out bringing with it crumbling chunks of moldy stone and mortar. It took nearly a month to get the IN-HOUSE maintenance man/Super to get up (one floor) to my apartment and fix it. Coinciding with this, a leak had sprung above my bathroom from the apartment above. It rotted away the wood and created a blister filled with water in the ceiling paint. The blister eventually burst and filthy water and rotted wood and plaster fell into my bathroom. I informed the office and the Super about this twice and it was left unfixed for over a month. During the time it went unfixed, the leak continued and more of the ceiling collapsed. Then in December of 2008 while I was away for several days, I received a call from the office informing me that the pipes in my bathroom had burst and flooded my apartment. Funny thing is, this happened on the warmest day in over a month and the bathroom has its own heating system (important to keep in mind that the heater could heat the room up to 90 degrees in the winter) which makes it highly implausible that it was my pipes. They then proceeded to blame me for the incident claiming that I had left a window open. When I left, the temperature was 9 degrees. What sense would it make to leave it open, let alone have a window open in that kind of weather. But even IF I had the heater was on and would have ensured that the room and pipes never would have gotten cold enough for them to burst. The final insult came when I had a friend of mine move out of his apartment, and because he did not yet have a new apartment, wanted somewhere reliable and safe for his mail to go in the meantime. I offered to be that safe place. His name was placed on the mail box and not 5 days later I received a venomous letter from the management claiming that I had "Others" in my apartment and that I was breaking the law and that the "Unwanted Guests" (their words) must vacate immediately. The end of the letter proceeded to threaten legal action against me. Needless to say, I was infuriated. Instead of making a quick simple call to ascertain the facts and then proceed accordingly, they decided to jump straight to threats. I wouldn't recommend this building or the management group Realty Resources Group (RRG) to my worst enemy. AVOID.

I've lived there as well, that couldn't be more accurate.
