Review for Beal Properties Apartments

Anyone who has anything good to say about this building works for Beal.

We moved into this building because it was being "renovated" at the time and were told about all the improvements being made. Apparently, the paint buckets and equipment were just props. We were told that by the time we moved in, the floors would be repaired, unit painted, and new windows put in the kitchen. What we got was putty on the floors, an apartment being painted with PRIMER WHILE (actually a positive since we repainted it the way we wanted) we were moving in, and hallways that smell like sewage.

At several times during our lease, the building had gotten so bad, there were only one or two other occupied apartments. The office never responds to maintenance requests and everyone seems to be a "manager". We even had one of the partners come out and look at the place. He rattled off a list of repairs they would do. None were ever completed.

They started using Apartment People and things got even worse. They leased one unit to a couple of kids who trashed their apartment, stole our cable, and had several visits from the police (once when one of them was stoned and tried to break into someone else's apartment a floor below his, and another for domestic battery).

During the winter, poor drainage caused the back stairs to freeze over and the back exit was frozen shut. We finally called the City and they forced to clear it because it was a safety issue.

No one ever stays in this building for more than 1-2 years. If someone tries to show you an apartment here, knock on someone's door to get the real story.
