Review for The Streeter Apartments

I moved in when the building first opened in Aug 2006. The building is still under construction and will be for another year at least, so there are construction workers & noise around 7 days a week. They break ground on a second tower in Jan 2007 so expect heavy digging and machinery outside your door for the next 2-3 years!

Overall the building and apartments are nice, but that is mainly because its brand new and everything is shiny and new. But after you live in the apt for a while you notice some definite layout flaws in the units. The Kitchen cabinet and counter layouts are totally inadequate, no linen closet, too much square footage wasted on non functional space (ie..the entrance hallway covers 2/3rd the length of the apartment), can't access the balcony from the living room, the bedroom is too small to fit a queen bed and average length dresser. I could go on but you get the point.

The pro's of the building are definitely the location. Security is good, they have a Business Center with free pc's, the pool and deck are very nice with a million dollar view, workout facilities are nice (but will be too small once the building is fully occupied), washer/dryer in every unit.

For almost $2000/month for a one bedroom I was expecting perfection but The Streeter didn't deliver. It's not a bad building, but certainly doesn't live up the the 5 star luxury living it was marketed and priced as.
