Review for College Square Apts Apartments

I moved in College Square because it was the only place that had apartments available at the end of the year. When they take you on a tour; they show you the building where the office is located. These buildings may look identical on the outside... but definitely not on the inside.

When I moved in my apartment there were off track closet doors, windows with no screens, and no window blinds/shades in the bedroom. It took their "janitor/repairman/cleaning crew/painter/carpet cleaner guy (the same guy does EVERY job for the buildings) almost 3 months to even START repairing the apartment. They still didnt finish even after me leaving.

For a whole year my toliet was having trouble flushing. Everytime the guy came to fix it he gave an excuse, and it would work for a few hours, then back to square one.

THE BUILDING HAS AN AWFUL SMELL TO IT! 24 hours a day it smells like there are 6 different types of meat being cooked simultaneously. The tenants are mostly college students with no furniture in their apartments.

Roaches anyone? They have plenty at College Square. The "exterminator" laid down some poison bait to kill them so it actually makes more roaches come instead of less.

The neighbors draw ALOT of attention from police, especially around NIU Homecoming and big concerts. But other than that, its pretty quiet.

They are SUPPOSED to be doing beautification on the buildings, but the only progress after a full year was new grass and a half white primed doors (thats still un-painted by the way) on all the residents doors. With all the dirty carpet in the hallway, it looks like an insane asylum.

Lastly, if you need to throw out the trash... why use a garbage can? The hallway is usually filled with items such as broken TVs, bags of garbage, old sunken in couches, etc. Bad part is that the cleaning guy only seems to clean the hallways once a week... and even does a bad job then. COLLEGE SQUARE SUCKS!!!
