Absolutely Terrible Leasers

I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE. My roommates and I had originally signed a lease for a 2 bedroom apartment. Drove up there in a U-Haul and a truck. Stopped at their office to sign a few papers and grab the key to move in. As we sat down to do so, they told us the apartment wasn't ready bc the original tenants moved out late and they never finished fixing, painting, etc. So, we were obviously super pissed especially when we paid for a U-Haul, took off work, and drove up there when they knew of our move-in; never bothered to call ahead and inform us. They said they had a 'ready-now' alternative if we were interested, so we checked this place out (Eco Park).. long story short, we ended up moving into this place out of frustration, little patience, and the need of a place immediately due to our jobs, school, etc. The place reeked terribly of cigarettes and mold. The paint job was god awful. The drywall work in the corners was lousy, causing cracks along many of the walls. Carpet, was probably one of the worst I've ever seen. Burns all over, worn to the padding; all sorts of colors. Washer constantly leaked after several maintenances. Poor pre-move in cleaning, especially in the kitchen: around and under the stove, under the stove cover(food debris all over), grease spots in the microwave, fridge poorly cleaned, food debris along the sides and under the fridge. The kitchen had several mold issues above all other rooms. And FYI, we are very clean people too, so it had nothing to do with our living style. I thought the parking was terrible too. Although we didn't pay for parking, the tightness of the parking spots were a little ridiculous especially during the winter. Trying to park a small car in there was even hard at times. I couldn't tell you how many door scratches I got on my car from other people hitting my door. Rarely ever any spots to park either. The one thing I didn't appreciate at all either was our privacy. It seemed to be almost every week, or every other at times, that they would embarge into our apartment with one knock and no patience to wait for someone to come to the door to answer it. They'd walk in claiming to 'check the gas/furnace closet.' They of course make you sign papers to allow them to do this. At first, you think nothing about it, bc you never expect it to be that ridiculous and frequent. There was absolutely no point to 'check' that closet, especially as much as they did. The office staff was very uncooperative at times, specifically two of their staff members that I recall. We took many pictures to protect ourselves in the long run, which I HIGHLY recommend. Their move-out inspections were unbelievable as well. We even got outrageously charged for not cleaning the inside of the window tracking when their screens are permanently screwed into the window framework, making it nearly impossible to clean without removing those screens. They tried to tell me it cost them $300 to paint one of the rooms. Now, working in home renovation business and at a paint store for a combined total of 6 years, you can NOT tell me it cost them that much to paint that one small room, as well as the painters hourly wage. 2 gallons tops (which is an overstatement), costs roughly $30 to 40 for one of the BEST QUALITY PAINTS you can find, which in no way is what is on their walls, and lets tact on another $25 for tape, brushes/rollers, etc. So if you do the math, lets say I paid the painter $20/hour.. it basically took this guy give or take 12 hours to paint one room. And just for the record, they don't use one guy to paint a room either. It's impossible to take that long to paint a room and it's poor business and trustworthiness to rip off a customer at that outrageous expense. That's not right whatsoever, I could continue on about several other situations, but it's worthless, just as this leaser is. I would never sit like this and waste my time to even type anything about anyone unless I felt it was really necessary but quite honestly, this company is company is garbage and no one deserves that. Don't waste your time, your money, and more importantly you living. I'd honestly rather live in the dorms if I had to choose between them.
