I love living here. The office staff are always incredibly pleasant and if something ever breaks- garbage disposal, blinds, ceiling fan, maintenance staff are over within a day or so to repair it. Maintenance workers are very polite, respectful, and nice people as well. They've actually replaced a few things I've complained about with no major breaks. I feel the price is fair for this apartment and the neighborhood is fun. Eco Park is somewhat of a party neighborhood, and whether or not you're into the "party" scene it is manageable and my fellow building tenants have been respectful for the two years I've lived in this apartment. I can see four bus stops from my balcony and the gym is within close walking distance. I have recommended Laing to many of my friends who have asked me about it. The only downside is that Laing has us pay for water, gas, and electric. Most places will cover one of those, but Laing does not- and thus my bill is more expensive. But I have never seen one bug- not even a spider- in my apartment..and I've been here two years.. so I'll gladly pay the extra $ to not see a bug- some of my friends who have cockroaches in their apartments!

I really didn't mind living here (Eco Park). However, I was at NIU as a grad student and was told after I moved in that there were a lot of undergrads here, which meant there are a lot of parties. My building wasn't too loud though. Parties were usually on the weekend and the noise level was fairly tolerable. This might be a plus for some people, but management wasn't very strict about the noise restrictions.
When I first moved in the refrigerator wasn't working properly and a couple days later, they brought in a brand new one. All the other things that I had listed in the beginning that were wrong with the apartment were minor and fixed immediately and the maintenance staff was VERY nice. Also, if I ever had any questions about anything, management was very helpful and willing to explain anything.
Another MAJOR plus about living here is that the bus stop is right outside your door and it comes every 10 minutes...very convenient.
